About the Art

Jae’s approach to design draws from several diverse inspirations, combining elements of western art, realism, and classical painting with elements more common in cartooning and manga to enhance and exaggerate expression. Emotional expression is the cornerstone of her artistic process.

An important element in Jae’s standard comic style is adding energy into her lines, giving some scenes a more frenetic feeling. It can be from straightforward motion in a scene, or because a character has become agitated, to convey the energy a person gives off when they’re on edge.
