Vithra FAQ
“Why does Djad wear bandages on her arms?”
Djad, as a shapeshifter, struggles a lot to revert back to her preferred shape. The wraps on her fingers, hands and forearms help her to know when she’s in the right area, based on how loose or tight they are.
“Why are Gemma’s ears getting progressively more pointy? Did I miss something?”
Nope. Sometimes you just have to keep reading.
“Why does the plot alternate between Djad/Gemma and Kafi/Lorie? Why not just make them a separate comic?”
While I understand the impatience of wanting to continue one thread of the plot while spending a long time in a different thread, it’s because it’s all related. They’re not separate plots, but just different threads that will be woven into a single tapestry.
This is a strange question. I always think it’s like a foot fetish implication, but the fact is…people don’t wear shoes all the time. She takes them off when she’s sleeping, relaxing, not walking through the wilderness. I think it’s pretty normal, and I really don’t understand the fixation.
There was one instance where Gemma removed her boots to fight Stormblade, and in that situation it was a matter of traction. She knew they were fighting on a stone bridge, and that the soles of her boots would have too much grip, and result in reducing her ability to pivot when punching. These are things that are really obvious to me, but I’m sure would never occur to the common person.
“Why does Gemma remove her boots so often?”
“Were you inspired by Arcane?”
No. Zero percent. I’m pretty sure people only ask this because of the protagonist’s hair colors, which is…strange. Also, both Legends of Vithra and Children of Carinia (its predecessor) pre-date Arcane.
